In Australia to be legally married to someone there is just 4 steps that need to be completed, this is called the "legalIn Australia to be legally married to someone there is just 4 steps that need to be completed, this is called the "legalities" of marriage. 1) The notice of Intended Marriage needs to be filled no later than one month before the ceremony and the declaration of no impediment to marry needs to be completed as close to but before the ceremony. 2) The Celebrant must introduce himself and explain the monitum, this is the definition of marriage by law, and needs to be done before the vows.
3) The vows, the minimum requirement by law for the vows must state " I call upon the persons here present to witness that I ____ take thee ___ to be my husband/wife/partner". ( Both parties to the marriage must state this)
4) If we make it to this stage things are going well all that is left to do is sign the official marriage cetificates and the marriage register with the two witnesses.
As long as these four things are completed you will be legally married in Australa, the rest is up to you as a couple and individually what to want to add to your ceremony.
When it comes to your marriage ceremony as you will see in the Packages & Pricing section if you just want a simple 5 minute ceremony with just the legalities to save you going to the registry office I can do that. If you want the traditional, modern or unique weddings I can do that too. If you are wanting something out of the ordinary bring it up and I am happy to discuss.
I am also a massive supporter of marriage equality and i find it a privlidge and an honour to participate in anyones special day and i belive we all have a right to enjoy and have that special day with our life partners.
